After School Tutoring & Enrichment Program
The After School Tutoring & Enrichment Program has a two-fold
aim:
1. To help the student complete all homework before going
home,
thus alleviating the parent’s stress of staying up late to help the
child;
2. To offer enrichment activities in the core classes to
aid in mastery of those classes.
Reading
The
reading program, in partnership with
Academic Associates Learning Centers,
provides the students with the tools to improve between two and six grade levels
in reading in just a few months. Students who participated in the Summer
Enrichment Program will continue the program from where they left off in the
summer.
Math Daily drills in math facts and reinforcement in
daily math assignments will allow the students the chance to master math at
their grade level or higher.
Spelling: Each week, all students will receive a
breakdown of their spelling words that will help them understand the phonics
rules for spelling in addition to reinforcing their spelling skills.
Study Skills Students will learn:
• how to use their time wisely
• how to take notes from their textbooks
• quick tips on memorization
• how to study for tests
Cost & Schedule*:
A one time materials fee of $25 is due at the time of enrollment. This fee
covers the cost of the reading, math, and spelling materials.
